Sponsors should be bowled over by OCB Under 19s' historic tour down under

Oxfordshire Cricket Board is sending an Under 19 (development) team to Australia in December 2010 for a six match tour of the country.

The tour, which is the first of its kind in Minor Counties cricket, has been endorsed by England captain Andrew Strauss.

Strauss said: "To send a team of under 19 cricketers to Australia is one of the most exciting and ambitious undertakings in the rich history of Oxfordshire cricket.

"It is a tremendous tribute to the OCB Youth Committee that they have arranged such an impressive itinerary, including a historic first for an Oxfordshire county junior side to play in the country during an England Ashes tour".

"Players selected for this tour had to do their own fund-raising", the Board points out, "but we are now seeking a principal tour sponsor, whose name will appear on our playing shirts and all other literature, including the pre-tour brochure.

"There is also considerable media coverage, both locally and nationally".
