AFRICAN BEAUTY PAGEANT IS A MODEL OPPORTUNITY FOR CARING SPONSORS
Mumba Promotions Limited is a promotions company and the licence holder for Miss Malaika UK (Diaspora). They currently have Miss Malaika UK who is going to go to Africa in December to represent the African Diaspora in the UK.

So sponsorship is sought in order to enable the organisation to send her to Africa and participate in Miss Malaika International on 30th December, 2005. Mumba Promotions also has a modelling agency under its umbrella that teaches catwalk and deportment and promotes fashion designers by showcasing their designs, particularly from the Black minority. The Miss Malaika pageant offers African women an opportunity to recognise the potential of their beauty and talent and also serves as a platform for raising issues relevant to the creation of a healthy society and for improvement of women's lives.

Mumba Promotions is currently working with Southend Primary Care Trust and the Terence Higgins Trust in the fight against, and prevention of, HIV. During the National AIDs Week, the company will also team up with RestorEgo, an agency that educates and supports people affected by and infected with the HIV virus.

The current title holder is going to represent the diaspora in the United Kingdom. She is currently empowering a 17 year old Zambian girl based in Lusaka, Zambia who fell pregnant and delivered triplets. She is helping her with getting clothes and food for the triplets and she will assist this girl-child in getting her back to school. The pageant here in the UK received quite a lot of coverage, the organisers point out - Original Black Entertainment (OBE) - covered the event and it is currently being shown on channel 223 of Sky Television. Mumba Promotions also played host to a South African Broadcasting Corporation production group who came to record the show and has been showing the pageant throughout Africa on DStv.

The organisation will hold two fundraising functions, one in Southend on Sea at the end of November and another one in December, at which they will offer extensive coverage of the prospective sponsors.
