The City of Bristol Basketball Club - Storm - are Bristol's only inner city basketball club who focus on the development of women's basketball and junior basketball. This year it is planned to run sessions for boys and girls from the age of 10 to 18. From these sessions teams will be put together to compete in the relevant junior league, whether that be locally, regionally or nationally, allowing the youngsters achieve their ambitions. In addition the women's programme will not only add several teams to the local leagues but also add Bristol's first women's national league side in over a decade. This programme creates an overall pyramid structure from young to old, in an area where sport has struggled to get established due to the costs of venue hire, etc. For the programme to be successful the club needs to raise approximately £8,000 in the form of advertising and/or sponsorship. The club would really like to hear from sponsors who would be interested in being involved in a programme which could have an extremely positive impact on the lives of so many youngsters - in an area where it is very much needed.
