Relaunched Conference Youth League will look for promotion by adding sponsors to their team
The Nationwide Football Conference is already a well known brand and is successful both for the sponsor and the clubs who compete in the Conference. In recent years there has been a sea of change in the professionalisation of the game at this level, both on and off the field. These positive developments are set to continue in this exciting and progressive league.
The next positive step is to develop Youth and Community football. The Football Conference Youth League has a three year vision which is that, building from an existing base of four regional youth leagues, they aim to create the foremost Youth League in the country outside of the Premier League.
The goal is to achieve this by providing a high level of competition in leagues and cups; by promoting within each club links into local junior football ensuring local progression and interest; by ensuring proper routes of progression for young players with clubs but also including further and higher education; by linking the League's youth football to the national agenda for social inclusion and young people's health and fitness; and by developing a web-based administrative and advertising medium which includes opportunities for young footballers to promote their clubs and themselves.
This is an exciting development backed by the clubs. The Football Conference Youth League is seeking expressions of interest from potential sponsors now so that they can begin informal talks in preparation of the choice of sponsors to be in place by September 2007.
