Sponsorship can be the remedy for The Cure Parkinson's Trust's funding needs

The Cure Parkinson's Trust Supported by Movers & Shakers is a new patient-led charity that was founded by four men with Parkinson's to accelerate the search for a cure for this debilitating neurological disease.

As it is a patient-led organisation, there is an immediacy and urgency to the cause, as well as incredible determination. It funds research and provides opportunities for researchers to communicate, via a programme of Forums. It involves patients in research through its Patient Panel. Additionally the Trust aims to advance the education and awareness of the public about Parkinson's disease.

Parkinson's disease does not discriminate on age or gender - the youngest person diagnosed was just ten years old. Parkinson's is not a killer - it is a thief, stealing controlled voluntary movement and limiting one's choice of when and how to go about every day activities. Yet a cure is within reach and research is at a critical point both here in the UK and worldwide, with exciting breakthroughs.

To date, the Trust has channelled more than £700,000 into cutting edge research both in the UK and worldwide.

The Trust would welcome sponsorship for its research programmes or support for its various and exciting fundraising events including, during 2007, a high profile photographic exhibition, cricket tournament (with support from county and England players), golf days, motor show and other events.
