This exciting youth dance company could add a new dimension to a sponsor's campaign
Founded in 2006, Dimension Dance is an exciting new youth dance company based at Wakefield Arts Centre.
The company is led by dance lecturer and choreographer Louise Wilkins and is supported by a small team of student teachers to offer dance classes and performance opportunities within a variety of different dance styles including ballet, tap, musical theatre, street dance, break dance, hip hop, contemporary and modern jazz. The team has worked together on a previous successful venture and is now ready to grow as a company. The company is open to young dancers from all backgrounds to develop technical and performance skills in a variety of different dance styles. Dimension Dance will work to establish educational links with schools to provide quality dance teaching and performance opportunities within a theatrical and commercial backdrop. The company will try to fund itself through selling its own merchandise, dance classes and promotional activities. However, the start up costs for the first year are very high due to insurances and licences, etc. They are therefore looking at sponsorship to cover these costs and to purchase costumes, etc. for the première production in September.
