Sponsors' support for Steve's 'Paddling for Sight' voyage is sure to catch the eye of media
Steve Geary is registered blind and 'Paddling for Sight', starting from Devizes on the Kennett and Avon Canal and then on to the River Thames, completing his voyage at Westminster Bridge, London.
He is making this 140 mile endeavour from 14th to 21st July. "Please help us to make this the best fundraising event this charity has ever known", says Open Sight.
'Paddling for Sight' is receiving the attention of the press, television and up to sixteen radio stations. Open Sight's own communications reach well in excess of 5,000 people but they earnestly need support from sponsors. The legacy of sponsorship funding will ensure that Steve's efforts have the greatest impact upon raising money - not only to fund services for people with sight loss, but also prevention education. 100 people are newly diagnosed with a life changing sight condition every day. Sponsorship support will enable Open Sight to go out into more businesses with the most essential information. In addition to offering outreach services - where they assess needs, match people with the correct resources, provide information, deliver advocacy, training and leisure activitiese - Open Sight works proactively with families. Users of their services are from six months old to people over one hundred years of age. Open Sight has many sponsorship opportunities: "Please get in touch to find out more so that we can pair your aspirations with the people we are here to serve".
