MTA is at the stage where it needs to act to put the spotlight on sponsorship
MTA is a brand new ethical drama college opening at the Drill Hall, London in September 2009. The Academy is currently looking for individuals or companies to create a bursary/scholarship scheme for potential students.
As it is a new college, successful applicants will not be eligible to apply for any sort of government funding (including CDL). However, the college doesn't wish to attract only students who can afford to pay for their places - they want to be able to offer a place to any student that has the talent and drive to succeed. MTA will be running the UK's first accelerated training programme, which means that its students will save a year of living and tuition costs whilst not sacrificing the training. The college works four terms per year, removing the traditionally long summer break, which many students use as a financial top up. MTA's longer term business plan has provision for a hardship fund; however this won't be available for a few years. The full cost of the course is £24,000 (a saving of £10,000 on other established colleges) - too much money for most people. Yet MTA believes that everyone should have a chance to follow their dream. Sponsorship support is now being sought.
