MntWANA is a child-centred organisation operating in rural Zimbabwe and focusing on four thematic areas necessary for a child's growth and development, ie child welfare, gender, poverty alleviation and HIV and AIDS.

One key area the organisation focusses on is child welfare and that is the basis of this communication. There is an unfortunate issue in a remote area of Zimbabwe where children are abused and neglected as a result of cult practises. Through the intervention of the department of social welfare, the charity was requested to mobilise resources and implement a thorough rehabilitation process.

The children in the village require a consolidated psychosocial intervention package coupled with the provision of basic tools for both staff and beneficiaries.
