ROSEWOOD RAILWAY MUSEUM
Rosewood Railway Museum in Queensland is looking for sponsors to help rebuild its 100 year old railway from Rosewood Township to the museum itself at Kunkala. "Currently we run one section of our railway, from Kunkala to Cabanda. It's a one hour return trip. If we can find a company that is willing to bore under the road, we can reconnect back to the other side. Then we need to replace wooden sleepers and an old wooden bridge. Once this is done we can start running steam train trips from Rosewood Township on a 15 km track - and then make it into a tourist railway for the people of Rosewood. Seeing that the coal mines have closed down and there is no work for the people in Rosewood, shops are closing down due to people not passing though their township and spending money. Since the railway started, back in 1985, we have had 68,000 people travel on our train. We also run a 'Steam Engine Driver for the Day' program, and do rail motor day trips through the week. We've also helped out Starlight Children's Foundation, letting a boy having two months to live drive our steam engine for a few hours, which was his wish. Please get in touch with us to discuss sponsorship opportunities that could be of mutual benefit". Contact: Craig. Tel.: 32521759. Address: 57a Freeman Road, Rosewood, Queensland 4342 Australia.
