ARCTIC RUGBY
Arctic Rugby is the most northerly rugby tournament in the world! The Arctic Rugby 7's tournament offers an extreme experience - games are played 250km above the Arctic Circle on snow. The second Arctic Rugby tournament takes place from 15th to 17th April, 2005. Teams are already registered from the UK, Nigeria and the Nordic countries. Arctic Rugby expect substantial media coverage - in 2004, this included coverage by Sky Sports UK and Rugby World. There will also be significant attendance, they tell us, as the resort of Saariselkä is also hosting the Finnish snowboarding championships on the same weekend. The tournament is aimed at promoting the game of rugby in the Nordic countries whilst bringing together the rugby-playing world in a fun and friendly competition.
