EQUAL ADVENTURE Adventure should be as natural and inclusive and as available as breathing clean air - but it's not. Individuals with a physical disability are often ignored within the adventure medium, mainly because specialist equipment is required to facilitate such involvement. Equal Adventure overcomes this barrier by designing and manufacturing a wide range of specialist outdoor adventure equipment which allows people of all ages with a physical disability to participate on an equal footing with able-bodied people. In 2012 Equal Adventure is organising a two week joint British/Hungarian river canoe expedition down the River Tisza in Hungary, with eight individuals (four from Britain and four from Hungary), all of whom have a physical disability. Equal Adventure will provide the specialist equipment required for this expedition and intend to leave it behind in Hungary for continued use by Hungarian practitioners, to support them in their inclusive approach to outdoor adventure. "I am walking the length of Israel, from Dan in the north on the Lebanon border down to Eilat in the south on the Jordanian border, in order to raise funds to finance this event. Despite being sixty-seven years young, I will be self-sufficient and it will take me around sixty days to complete. I will be doing a weekly blog during the journey and posting images on the Equal Adventure website (www.equaladventure.co.uk). We would be grateful if you would support us in this worthwhile venture by sponsoring me or making a donation". Contact: Frank Grant. Address: 143 Upperby Road, Carlisle, Cumbria CA2 4JP. Action sports - especially cycling - continually inspire. "Over the next few years we will have thousands of miles to travel to fulfil Tahnée's dream of becoming World Champion. Each year, we find it more and more difficult to get to the races with the spiralling costs involved. Tahnée started her career in cycling in the UK back in 2003 ... she has already followed her sport around Europe and spends a lot of her time in the French Alps so she can ride trails almost every day during the summer. In 2010 she raced much of Europe, gaining recognition in the cycling world by winning junior races, competing against some of the fastest riders in the world ... and finishing on the podium! From the beginning we have attracted and promoted some of the best products in the cycling industry - we are now looking for a major sponsor to bring financial support to our team that will enable us to compete at the highest level throughout the world". THE FOUR NATIONS GOLF CHALLENGE Concierge Golf has created an attractive and stimulating annual amateur golf tournament which gives competitive members of UK golf clubs the rare opportunity to represent their country. The Four Nations Golf Challenge (FNGC), potentially the most exciting team competition for amateur club golfers ever devised, offers the mouth-watering prize of a "Ryder Cup"-style finale on one of Europe's most challenging courses - for 2011, The Oxfordshire (September 25th - 28th), to be televised on Sky Sports. Over the years, the Ryder Cup has demonstrated the patriotism and sporting emotions triggered by competition between nations. The honour and opportunity for club golfers across all handicap levels to represent their country has stimulated a high level of interest. "The Four Nations Golf Challenge Grand Final promises to be a 'must see' event for golfers throughout Europe and by being televised on Sky Sports will create excellent opportunities for a limited number of associated partners to promote their brand, products and services! The Four Nations Golf Challenge is actively promoted through an aggressive combination of golf media press releases, editorials, magazine advertising, online teaser and awareness campaigns and targeted direct response campaigns. All such promotion is designed to drive UK and Irish club golfers to The Four Nations Golf Challenge website - www.fournationsgolfchallenge.co.uk - where our partner's brand, products and services are promoted together with a direct link to their own website. The promotional opportunities provided by TV coverage of the event are not limited to just the actual broadcast but offer companies with vision and creative flair a promotional vehicle which spans pre- and post-event over a period of some eighteen months. A one-hour television programme on a commercial channel such as Sky Sports provides forty-seven minutes of actual TV time. Within those forty-seven minutes, various tactics can be deployed to effectively promote an individual, company, product or service. Concierge Golf will work co-operatively with sponsors to create an effective promotional package that meets their requirements". Contact: Roger Brady, Director. ODYSSEY XX1
On the 1st November 1998, at Punta Arenas in Chile, former British paratrooper Karl Bushby took the first steps on a 36,000 mile long path that will lead him home. Unassisted by any form of transport, Karl was attempting what the world told him could not be done. He began a journey that will be the longest ever continuous journey on foot, doubling any existing records. Karl believed it was possible to journey by foot from the southern most point of South America back to England and leave behind him an unbroken trail of footsteps. This incredible journey began unsupported and unfunded, simply operating on unshakeable will, faith and endurance. The story unfolds over four continents, frozen seas, deserts and mountain ranges, from the jungles to the Arctic, in an estimated fourteen year adventure like no other. Karl has completed over nine years of this marathon, covering 17,000 miles. In 2000, he crossed the guerrilla-held jungles and swamps of the Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama - a feat even the local people considered impossible for a westerner. In 2006, he created a record by crossing from Alaska to Russia by walking/swimming the semi-frozen Bering Straits. His path now lies through Asian, across Europe and back into the UK using the service tunnel of the Channel Tunnel. He will not return home until he has walked back to the UK: as such, this is a continues endeavour. Currently the Odyssey is not sponsored. For a number of years the endeavour has been without a financial sponsor or partner, resulting in difficult logistical challenges in far north east Russia, where the politics, extreme environment and remoteness have left the Odyssey in a tight spot. The Odyssey needs a partner to see this one-of-a-kind adventure push beyond the Arctic Circle, south into Asian and for the big push for home. Contact: Karl Bushby. WILL JACKSON RACING Will Jackson Racing offers a chance for a sponsor to get on board and be part of the future of British yachting. "With your help and support, I am hoping to compete in some of the toughest, most extreme races the yachting world has to offer. Your brand will go all around Europe and North America and eventually the world, being associated with backing young British talent and the future of the sport in Britain. Your brand will also benefit from being in a class which is growing in both fleet size and media coverage year on year, due to its low cost and spectacular performance. Your involvement with the sport will also demonstrate a responsible view on ecological issues like sustainable resources and non eco-damaging sport. The plan is to do the Atlantic Ocean Racing Series on a Class 40 racing yacht. This is an eight race series starting in the Caribbean and ending in the Mediterranean. It is made up of a number of short races up the east coast of America, a transatlantic race and some shorter offshore races around Europe. High profile races involved include The Caribbean 600 The Fastnet the Middle Sea Race.
I would like to compete in this series as well as doing any other events which can be fitted in such as Cowes Week other RORC races. This would be in addition to making time to do any sponsor-related hospitality and corporate events. Other events and opportunities are available - so don't hesitate to get in touch". WIFE CARRYING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS ENTRANCE
Sponsorship opportunities are offered by an English-German team who are entering the 2011 Wife Carrying World Championships in Finland. "We anticipate a great deal of interest from local newspapers (Manchester Evening News and Bolton Evening News in the UK and Hamburg Abendblatt in Germany), along with national newspapers. We are promoting our entrance with Twitter as well as two short films, based on the experience, which will be published on YouTube once the competition is over. We are going there to win! This opportunity would suit any potential sponsor seeking something quirky - particularly anyone with a link to the north west of England, as that is where most of our media contacts are. Space is available on our participation T-shirts for the name and logo of a sponsor, along with special thanks in newspaper articles, on Twitter and in the published videos. The sponsorship will hopefully go some way towards covering the cost of flights and train fares to attend the event, which will take place in rural Finland. Feel free to get in touch and discuss this with us. Any sponsorship would vastly help our entrance into this event". Contact: Iain Bisset. Address: 10 Vale Street, Turton, Bolton BL7 0EB.
