Rhino Africa, South Africa's largest online inbound tour operator specialising in Southern and East African travel, has created Challenge4aCause as a new non-profit initiative designed to take on a charitable target annually. With 2009's Namibian desert cycle, Challenge4aCause aims to raise awareness and money for anti-poaching rhino units. In taking on this challenge their short-term target is to raise R350,000 for the Save the Rhino Trust - enough to sponsor a Namibian anti-poaching unit for a year. In the long term, the plan is to cement the idea as an annual initiative that will financially support the purchase of land along the eastern escarpment of Southern Africa to create a migratory route for masses of African wildlife. While the inaugural Challenge4aCause is a closed event, from 2010 Rhino Africa Safaris plan to encourage as many interested parties as possible to get involved in both the actual event and the fund-raising aspects around it. Sponsorship of the 23rd Rotary Greatest Train Race has now been concluded and it will take place on Saturday, 22nd August 2009. Danny Jordaan, 2010 World Cup organising committee chief executive officer, Danny Jordaan, has denied rumours that revenue from commercial and broadcasting deals for next year's FIFA World Cup would fall short of the target. He said the income of US dollars 3.2 bn (around R25.6 bn) generated so far was higher than for any previous World Cup.
