Coral sponsors World Snooker's new Home Nations series

World Snooker has announced Coral as the title sponsor of the new Home Nations series.

The three remaining events in the series - the Northern Ireland Open, Scottish Open and Welsh Open - will all be title-sponsored by Coral.

This follows their successful sponsorship of the recent Coral English Open in Manchester, when Liang Wenbo beat Judd Trump in the final.

The four events will be known collectively as the Coral Home Nations Series. If China's Liang goes on to win all four he will earn a massive £1million bonus.

Each event will feature 128 players battling for the trophy and individual top prizes of £70,000. They are televised by Eurosport and Quest, with the Coral Welsh Open also broadcast by BBC Wales.

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said: "We are thrilled to have Coral on board for all four tournaments and to have their brand associated with this new series. The Coral Home Nations is a fantastic addition to our calendar.

"The Coral English Open was a tremendous event in terms of the standard of snooker and the television viewing figures on Eurosport and Quest, and clearly Coral recognise the vast exposure they will gain by supporting the whole series.

"The next event in Belfast will be particularly exciting as Liang Wenbo continues his chase for the unprecedented £1million bonus. This series is bringing top level snooker to a string of venues across the UK and it's an incredible chance for fans to see their heroes".
