Stena Line renews Giants sponsorship deal

The Stena Line Belfast Giants are celebrating after securing their biggest re-signing of the season, as leading ferry company Stena Line announced that it will once again become the ice hockey team's title sponsor in 2017/2018, for the seventh successive year.

Stena Line has supported the Belfast Giants since 2008 by regularly transporting the players, their loyal fans and visiting teams throughout the UK all season.

Orla Noonan, Travel Commercial Manager (Irish Sea North) at Stena Line explained why everyone at the ferry company is pleased to support the sporting champions for another year. "We are thrilled to be the title sponsor of the Belfast Giants once again and we're really looking forward to another exciting season which will no doubt have fans on the edge of their seats.

"We know that the players can build on the fantastic achievements of last season and will be aiming even higher for the 2017/18 season.

"No-one could have anticipated what a huge following the Belfast Giants would develop here in Northern Ireland and every year the fan base just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Supporters should keep an eye out for news on fun promotions happening over the coming months that will allow them to get up close and personal with their favourite players.

"On behalf of everyone at Stena Line, and the loyal fans who support them at every match, home or away, we’d like to wish them all the best of luck for the coming season", she added.

Steve Thornton, Head of Hockey Operations at the Stena Line Belfast Giants, was equally upbeat.

"We are thrilled to renew our partnership with Stena Line and look forward to another successful season. The Giants boast the best fans in the league and anyone who has been to a game will know that their energy and enthusiasm for the game is unrivalled.

"The popularity of the sport here in Northern Ireland is growing every year and we're sure this is set to continue".
