U14 HENLEY RUGBY SQUAD
The U14 Henley Rugby Squad goes on tour every year. This year, 2007, they are travelling to South Africa where they will visit Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town over ten days. They will play four games, one of which is at the ABSA Stadium and will be televised. Whilst on tour, they will play a development game in Soweto, which will be covered by press as it involves ex-Springbok players. Sponsors of this squad will have their details distributed through the tour brochure as well as having their logos printed on the kit. The brochure will be distributed through family, friends, school, the rugby club and then also at fundraising events over the next six months. Press coverage of this team includes local press, South African TV and TV on return to the UK. Next year the squad will be travelling to a European destination. The organisers are hoping to gain further support for future tours from previous sponsors. This squad are the Oxfordshire 15 a side Champions and 10 a side Champions. Bradford & Bingley RFC, known as 'The Bees', were champions of the North Div. 1 for Season 2003-2004 and Powergen International Cup winners 2004. Director of Rugby is Geoff Cooke, OBE (British Lions and England manager). With its outstanding success over recent seasons, the club is now able to offer all types of sponsorship. Whilst they have just signed a three year major shirt sponsorship deal, they are still able to offer value-for-money packages to any new corporate sponsor. CHURCHILL HALL RUGBY CLUB, UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL
Churchill Hall Rugby Club, at the University of Bristol, previously very poorly funded from within hall, is this year looking to strike out and create an extra team, with more to follow in the future. With a potential fan base of over 1,000 students, the club is looking for both a main shirt sponsor, who would have their logo on the team's shirts, and also smaller sponsors to cover various other costs, who would get an advertisement on the club's website and also on promotional leaflets and posters. These smaller sponsorship roles, they tell us, are an ideal opportunity for those companies who cannot afford to pay the vast amounts that many teams want, in particular those firms in the Bristol area who rely mainly on student trade. LANCASTER UNIVERSITY RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
The academic standard of Lancaster University has been rising consistently to place it highly in respected nationwide tables. In recent years, the university sports pitches have been plagued with flooding over the season but are finally beginning to return to the status they held before. Recently this has led to an inability to train appropriately and has meant that the university club's form has dropped. Looking to turn around its troubled recent history, Lancaster University Rugby Union Football Club is hoping to break through to become a serious rugby university and is therefore looking for a financial donor to aid them as sponsor next season. This will allow the club to buy new kits and perhaps a few other pieces of equipment. The university plays around sixty games of rugby a year and is also looking into the possibility of a tour in December to Budapest, following the success of its tour last year to Prague. Trinity is one of the largest and most well-reputed Oxbridge colleges, both in academia and sport, giving the team a potential fan base of over 1,000 students. Moreover recent successes, including reaching the final of the cuppers plate last season, have increased interest. The sponsorship would include having the sponsor's name across the shirt and possibly on other team clothing which would be worn around the university, resulting in a very large amount of exposure for the company.
