Major benefits for sponsors associated with Fringe comedy Creatures are no laughing matter

Creatures is a cutting edge new comedy show, written by and featuring character comedian Susan Harrison.

Susan has been a professional actress since 2001. She trained at the nationally accredited drama school, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and was a Semi Finalist in the 2009 Funny Women Awards.

Creatures will be directed and produced by Colin Leggo, who has promoted comedy for several years at the popular south London comedy club Comedy at the Kirk, which regularly plays host to some of the big names in comedy, such as Russell Kane (Big Brother's Big Mouth), Steven K Amos (BBC 1's Live at the Apollo), Greg Davies (from C4's The Inbetweeners), Reginald D Hunter (Have I Got News For You) and Issy Suttie (from C4's Peep Show), to name a few.

Central

Susan and Colin made their Edinburgh debut last year at the Underbelly with their first comedy show, Five Characters in Search of Susan, which was described as "dark comedy at its best" ***** (ThreeWeeks). It was a great success and received very favourable reviews: "Susan Harrison's character sketch show is impeccably performed and reveals her rich talent as a comedy actress. Her name is one to look out for" (One4Review); "Harrison introduces us to her alter egos with remarkable ease, brilliant comic timing and a sense of authenticity" (The Stage).

In 2010 the pair will take Creatures to Edinburgh to perform at The Space @ Jury's Inn, which is in an ideal central position, being seconds from the Royal Mile and just 500 yards from Waverley Station.

It will cost approximately £7,000 to take Creatures to the Fringe, which includes venue hire, accommodation, PR, publicity, the Fringe brochure fee and living expenses. As the Edinburgh Fringe is the world's largest arts festival, involvement in an exciting new comedy show such as Creatures can be an attractive proposition for sponsors.

"From our success at last year's Edinburgh Fringe, we know that Creatures can attract a young, lively audience and we would love your help to realise this potential. Interested sponsors and investors should contact the producer by initially emailing Colin Leggo".

Opportunities/information for sponsors

750,000 people visit Edinburgh every August, and many of them are there for the Edinburgh Fringe.

In 2009 a total of 18,901 performers took part and 1.8 million tickets were sold.

Comedy was the most popular art form in 2009, with 33% of the total. "As Creatures is a comedy show we will appeal to a wide demographic".

"The sponsor's branding will be included on our website (which will appear on www.edfringe.com) with a link to the sponsor's website".

The sponsor's logo and features will be on all printed promotional materials for the Fringe. This will include approximately 10,000 flyers to be distributed daily throughout the city, and several hundred A2 and A3 posters.

"There will be ongoing publicity throughout the build-up to the Fringe (including theatrical previews in London, video clips advertising the show and fundraising events) and during this time the sponsor's branding and profile will be featured on our website".
