Spartan South Midlands Football League offers striking opportunities for widespread promotion

The Spartan South Midlands Football League is actively seeking a main sponsor.

The League was formed in 1922 as the Bedfordshire County League, but changed its name in 1929 to the South Midlands League, following the acceptance of clubs from a wider area.

In 1997, the League expanded when it joined together with the London Spartan League, resulting in an even larger spread of clubs.

The League sits at Step 5 in the F.A. National League Pyramid and covers an area from Milton Keynes, Bedford and Biggleswade in the north down to north London in the south. There is also a wide geographical east/west spread, from Royston across to Amersham, Aylesbury and Buckingham.

There are eighty-eight teams currently in membership, spread across five divisions - Premier, Division One, Division Two and two Reserve Divisions.

Nine Premier Division champion clubs plus two runners-up have made the step up to the Southern League/Ryman League in the last nine years.

There is a thriving Respect Campaign operating within the League which is in the final stages of achieving FA Charter League status and regular national and local media exposure is provided by weekly electronic Results Bulletin and Newsletters. Other benefits include free full page advertisements in all matchday programmes plus opportunities for advertising hoardings at all grounds.
