Ponderosa Rural Therapeutic Centre is a non-profit making organisation which aims to bridge the gap between able-bodied and disabled people. The charity employs over fifteen people from its local community who have learning difficulties. Along with able-bodied people, they help to run the organisation's Rare Breeds farm, which is open to the public. There is also a day care centre which provides a working environment for up to thirty students with learning difficulties. Here they make crafts, learn about horticulture and run a recycling unit. All of which takes a lot of funding. On the 16th July, 2005, 6.00pm - 12.00pm, an open air concert called Disco Inferno will be run to raise funds to support the centre at Park Farm, Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire. This will be an evening dedicated to the 70's era, with three live acts, a 70's disco road show, fireworks spectacular, mobile pubs, food trailers, etc. Fancy dress is optional. This is a strict ticket-only event for 3,000 people over the age of 16. Tickets will be £12. All monies raised will be put back into the centre to help fund its future. To hold an event like this is very costly and the Centre would like to appeal to any companies who would like to help the event by sponsoring the various items needed. Alternatively, sponsors can opt to purchase an advertising banner. Any help towards the event will be much appreciated.
