ATLANTIC DASH
In December 2011, two firefighters from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service will embark on the incredible Atlantic Dash challenge. Firefighters from Cardiff Fire Stations, John Haskell and Jamie Windsor, will attempt to row over 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for several charities. The expedition will start on December 4th with the team launching their boat from the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands. John and Jamie are expected to cross the Atlantic Ocean in approximately three months, reaching Barbados in February 2012. This extraordinary challenge will raise a lot of money for some very worthwhile charities. However, the team desperately needs your support to have any chance of completing this gruelling task, so they are currently seeking financial sponsors. "It will give you a taste of the fantastic enthusiasm and passion of the team members, John and Jamie, as well as the incredible and highly attractive 'Atlantic Dash' sponsorship opportunities available. The team have been featured on national news and have a promotional pack and promotional video on YouTube - please see
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9orHlL5Q0bM. We hope you will be able to help support John and Jamie to enable them to take part in this punishing but incredible challenge by becoming an 'Atlantic Dash' team sponsor and help them achieve their aim of raising over £100,000 for charity. We look forward to hearing from you soon". Contact: Jamie Windsor. Address: Whitchurch Fire Station, Heol Y Nant, Whitchurch CF14 6BS. Tel.: 07831 455605. E-mail: team@atlanticdash.co.uk

ANTARCTIC CHALLENGE: HAZEL RICHARDS
In the footsteps of Shackleton ... skiing the last ninety-seven nautical miles to the South Pole - The Nimrod Expedition. "As part of a small team of ten, I am looking for sponsorship to support a ski trek challenge to the Geographic South Pole, starting where Sir Ernest Shackleton abandoned his plans to do the same in 1902 (see my website for a brief outline of the Shackleton story). It was on his now-famous Nimrod Expedition that Shackleton, with his trusted colleagues, turned back ninety-seven nautical miles from the centre due to poor weather conditions and a lack of supplies. The Antarctic Challenge - the intention is to trek to the Geographic South Pole ... the highest, coldest, most windswept place on Earth, skiing over the ice plateau and weaving through sastrugi in extreme weather conditions. I will be pulling a 25kg pulk, containing all necessary supplies to cover the fourteen day expedition to the centre of the South Pole. The Sponsorship - I am looking for key sponsors to help support the cost of the challenge and in return I will help to raise sponsors' brand awareness, as well as create funds for good causes (click the download button below for personal news achievements)". SCH/PL005 DUNCAN SMALL - CLIPPER YACHT CHALLENGE
Duncan Small has been selected to participate in the 2011-2012 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. In order to take part in this unique challenge, he is looking for a sponsor to cover his race costs. The Clipper Challenge involves ten identical stripped out 68 foot racing yachts, crewed by amateur yachtsmen and women under the guidance of a professional skipper. The race covers approximately 39,000 miles around the world, over fifteeen legs, and visits thirteen countries. It is a truly global event that generates massive interest wherever the yachts visit. To take part, Duncan is looking for a sponsor (or sponsors) to cover his race costs. "So what can I offer in return? Participation in this event requires mental and physical toughness and, above all, a desire to succeed. On my return, I will be able to pass on my experiences to others and to demonstrate that anyone can achieve what they want, whether that be in play or in the work place. In addition, in the build up to the race, during the race and after the race, I can provide regular updates on progress that can feed into any corporate marketing programme. Finally, wherever possible and subject to any restrictions placed on me by the race organisers, I would be more than happy to host any corporate guests, whether they be from the sponsoring company or their clients - whenever and in which ever ports of call the fleet makes. This event is unique and is global. It brings together individuals from all over the world and provides the opportunity to make new contacts on an international scale. I am more than happy to discuss further in detail. For further details on the event, please log into the Clipper website at www.clipperroundtheworld.com/". Contact: Duncan Small. FIT FOR SPORT
Fitter Schools overview: Fitter Schools is a free, annual initiative open to every school in the UK. Its Ambassador is Olympics medallist Roger Black MBE. Schools that signed up for the 2010 Challenge committed themselves to becoming more active and to increasing the awareness of living more healthily to not only their children, staff and parents but also to the whole school community. Over 7,000 schools have taken part between 2007 and 2010. 1.75 million children have participated in the challenge, with results showing a 12% improvement in fitness levels per year on average. In line with Fit For Sport's "Simple, Achievable and Sustainable" approach, children take part in three simple challenge exercises. Pupils' improvement or aggregate scores are added together to determine the school's overall performance.     Relevant brand visibility and digital awareness: the programme includes communication with UK schools through the organisation's up to date schools database; via advertising with a sustained campaign with a positive messaging; utilising a strong local, regional and national PR platform for extensive sales and sampling opportunities; featuring local and national celebrity endorsement and access; including an association with a trusted organisation with twenty years' experience; and incorporating product integration - the opportunity to explore product/service integration wherever appropriate and the right to offer the sponsor's product or services as prizes and giveaways relating to the initiative.    Fitter Families overview: "Fitter Families is the national voice for educating families on how to incorporate lifestyle habit changes, through our 'SAS' approach. This includes National Roadshows - in 2009, 30,000 people participated in twenty-four family activity roadshows throughout the UK; our website - over 20,000 people registered their interest and received information via monthly newsletters and the Fitter Families website; a book - to reinforce the SAS message, a glossy, bound Ian Wright Fitter Families book was published with a print run of 25,000 copies; the Challenge - which specifies defined exercises to improve fitness levels over a measured period and is designed to illustrate the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle using the combination of the book, the website and the roadshow; a media campaign - the resulting campaign from our partners reached over a million people; and the Fitter Families learning programme, which achieved a 90% retention rate". GEOFF HOLT ATLANTIC CHALLENGE
The opportunity exists to sponsor record breaking disabled yachtsman Geoff Holt to become the first disabled yachtsman to sail the Atlantic Ocean single-handed. Geoff Holt has already acquired the specialist yacht, the only 60 foot wheelchair-accessible yacht in the world. Sponsorship funds are needed just to cover administrative costs. In return the yacht has two sixty foot white hulls and several thousand square metres of sail, just crying out for a sponsor's logo. Already a proven commodity, in 2007 Geoff Holt became the first disabled yachtsman to sail single handed around Great Britain. Paralysed from the chest down, he sailed his 15 foot trimaran dinghy 1,500 miles to fifty-one destinations in a Challenge that took 109 days to complete. On his return, he wrote a best-selling autobiography, Walking on Water. Now he is attempting the "big one" and with a guaranteed 30 minute documentary and a launch planned with HRH Princess Anne and Dame Ellen MacArthur, DBE, this project offers the title sponsor a unique and highly "PR friendly" marketing opportunity for a modest cost. SCH/PL010 MAJOR PHIL PACKER
Major Phil Packer is a paraplegic who was injured in Iraq last year and was told that he would not walk again. His injuries have improved and this year he has been given a Golden Ticket to walk the Flora London Marathon over two weeks (two miles each day). He will be the first paraplegic to do so. The MOD and KTB PR have a media plan with media partners including the BBC, Telegraph and Hello magazine, who will cover the exclusives for his story. He has just rowed the English Channel and, following the marathon, will climb El Capitan. His intention is to try out as many sports as possible to provide information to fellow injured servicemen and women and the wider disabled network. He has a website (www.philpacker.com) which is currently being redesigned and continuously improved. His intent is to raise £1 million for Help for Heroes, so all sponsorship would go directly to the charity and he would be delighted to wear a sponsor's logo on his clothing for his challenges, including the Flora London Marathon. The media covering his marathon attempt will be national and he hopes to gain public support through his quest. MONGOL RALLY TEAM
In July 2012, a team of four are looking to complete the perilous Mongol Rally with the aim of raising over £3,000 in aid of Amnesty International. The rally will set off from Goodwood near Chichester and end up in the capital city of Mongolia, which is Ulaanbaatar. Amnesty International began as a small group of volunteers who started a mission to stop the imprisonment of men and women for their religious or political beliefs. That cause is as relevant today as it was in 1961. Today Amnesty International is seen as one of the largest and most trustworthy voluntary organisations in the world. They not only fight for the rights of prisoners of conscience, they seek to protect prisoners of violence and people in poverty. Amnesty International works to uphold the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights. "I would be privileged to raise money for this prestigious organisation as I believe it stands up for the very best of humanity as a shield against oppression, segregation and the abuse of humans. They only accept funding that does not compromise their aims or principles and I would be honoured to contribute to this cause. We are looking for a sponsor to help us finance the car. The rules state that it has to be under ten years old, with an engine no larger than 1,200cc. We are looking for a sponsor who will be able to help finance or part-finance the purchase of the car. We understand that this will be a large investment for anyone - so in return we will do all that we can to promote your firm and demonstrate how you are supporting a good cause through the following outlets    car logo stickers    logos on any clothing or equipment, where appropropriate    adding your company name to our planned social media fundraising campaign, Facebook, Twitter, Live Blog     mention in our planned appearances in the local press, ie radio, local newspapers and possibly South Today    we will be filming a day-by-day documentary of our trip, sending it back home while on the road for a regular YouTube channel managed 'back at base' while we are on the road - so we will be sure to push your brand name to ensure you get plenty of advertising space for your funding    where we plan to set up collection boxes in shops we have contacts in, on the label we can mention that the donation is for Amnesty International and the expedition is supported by your firm. So overall, in return for your helping the expedition out with transport, we will feature your sponsorship heavily in our pre-expedition media hype campaign that will focus mainly in the South East - and there is a chance that we might get some national coverage. Amnesty International is a globally-respected organisation and will always be a good group to be affiliated with since they are looking to uphold the Universal Declaration of Human Rights globally, no matter what". SCH/002 THE ROCKALL SOLO ENDURANCE EXPEDITION
"The Rockall Solo Endurance Expedition is a once-in-a-generation expedition to be undertaken by me, Nick Hancock, in order to raise funds for Help for Heroes. Since the first recorded landing in 1811, only four people have spent more than one night on Rockall; of these only one has done it without shelter. The challenge is for me to land on Rockall and survive solo for sixty days, setting two new endurance records: the longest ever solo occupation of Rockall and the longest occupation of Rockall in history. The expedition planning has been completed and the current challenge is now that of sourcing funding for the provision of transport, equipment and insurance. In order to cut costs I am currently constructing my own shelter and am also attempting to source a suitable vessel to transport me to and collect me from Rockall. This expedition will offer significant sponsorship and partnership opportunities. These will allow you and your company to benefit from brand association, PR, marketing and advertising campaigns, and newspaper and media coverage. There is a promotional brochure available to download at http://www.rockallsolo.com/resources/Rockall+2011+Sponsorship+Brochure+A4+4pp+v3.pdf. To find out more about me, please visit www.nicholashancock.com, or the expedition blog http://rockall2011.blogspot.com/. A number of equipment providers have already agreed to supply key items, but there are still the issues of transport costs, food and communications equipment to be supplied and/or paid for. I hope you will see the huge potential of this expedition and be able to help support me. I look forward to hearing from you soon". Contact: Nick Hancock.
