BRUNEL TRIATHLON AND CYCLING CLUB
Brunel University Triathlon and Cycling Club is a university club - its members are looking for sponsorship to get the club up and running. "We have a varying level of ability in our club, with our top level competing in many high profile competitions, and as a university club we can advertise around the university to get the maximum benefit back to your business. We would like to put your logo on our kit. We don't expect you to supply us with products; a slight discount on products would be appreciated, but is not essential. If your business wants to have promotional events around our university, we can provide help for such events and attract people to your brand. We are a new club and therefore have our kit currently in production - I would therefore request that your reply be quick so that adaptations to the kit can take place if required". CITY COLLEGE NORWICH - EXTREME SPORTS THERAPY UNIT
The Extreme Sports Therapy Unit provides students with a way of developing their practical sports massage skills in a real working environment and it doesn't get any more real than an all-night event in bitter cold, pouring rain. As an experiential learning opportunity it is second to none, and the students benefit from being able to work as part of a team whilst improving their skill and knowledge base, thus developing their confidence and communication skills. The unit usually contains a mix of students, some of whom are qualified and working to gain further experience, whilst still at the College studying the Foundation Degree in Sport Health & Exercise, though the majority are students studying the L3 Diploma in the Prevention and Management of Sports Injuries. "We are geared up to service medium to large events and like to focus on Extreme Sports - hence our involvement with Chain Reaction Cycles and Thetford Mountain Bike Racing (Thetford MTB). We can operate up to twelve treatment tables at one time; and if required we can operate in multiple locations at the same event. The Unit is completely self-sufficient; we have a field kitchen and camping equipment and the only thing only thing we need is access to water and toilets (though a hot shower is always appreciated). We have developed considerably over the last five years and we are still looking to expand further. Whilst we have had some support from the College we are essentially self-funding - therefore any money made at events through donations is invested back into the business. With this in mind we are actively seeking sponsorship to help fund travel expenses, purchase new equipment and further improve the student learning experience. In return for sponsorship we can offer exposure at events in the UK and Europe and on our website. Rest assured that your business will be well represented as we are a very professional outfit that is serious about what we do. As we have huge exposure at events there are numerous branding opportunities on marquees, banners, flags, student shirts and our 7.5 tonne truck". MILLIONEUROCYCLEJERSEY
The Million€uroCycleJersey is the new cycle jersey sponsorship project in the UK and Europe. From the smallest local business to globally recognised brands, all are welcome to participate. Smaller companies may wish to join forces with others to sponsor and complete a professional looking cycle jersey. Larger companies may require jerseys solely for their sponsor logos. "Take as much or as little sponsorship as suits your budget. The personalised jerseys are then distributed by region at your request and free of charge to some of the thousands of cyclists who have signed up at our website - who then proudly wear them on their daily commutes, sportives, leisure and charity rides. Your company gets fairly priced coverage on the jerseys, the cyclists get a free quality cycling jersey and our charity partners get a minimum 20% share of any profit. Everyone's a winner!" SCY/0003 CHRIS LUCAS TRUST - THE GREAT NORTH BIKE RIDE
The Great North Bike Ride is an annual event in aid of the Chris Lucas Trust. Christopher suffered three long years - the Evening Chronicle covered his story during and after his illness and named him Bravest Boy in Britain and Local Hero. The trust is currently fundraising for a Scientific Medical Researcher, based with the NHS to research a very aggressive cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma and to help improve the quality of life of children and young adults suffering from this horrific type of sarcoma. Support for Chris Lucas Trust events can offer a number of benefits, say the organisers, including helping spread the sponsoring company's message to its target market, offering a direct and cost effective method of achieving the organisation's objectives and giving the company an edge in this market place. Through events sponsorship, sponsors can increase both their profile and brand awareness and can network through face-to-face contact with potential new clients at the events, say the trust, whose message is "Please make a difference. Inform your friends, workmates, get a team together!". The ride is 50 miles of beautiful Northumberland scenic coastline and the entry fee is £10. Exposure of the event will be achieved via the Chris Lucas Trust website and various publications, advertisements, mail shots, banners and display stands. Registered charity number: 1085775. Contact: Lynn Cecil Lucas. Address: 95 Lancaster Drive, Hadrian Park, Wallsend, North Tyneside, NE28 9TF. Tel.: 0191 263 2884. E-mail: lynn_lucas@hotmail.com.
