• Stand Up For The Reds in 125th Anniversary Year • Barnsley Football Club is looking to secure a key partner to sponsor its East Stand ahead of the club's 125th anniversary next season. The stand, which will offer media exposure from the very outset with an official sponsorship launch, will also provide any interested party with the option of advertising their company both internally and externally on the stand itself. Additional advertising, sponsorship and marketing opportunities will be available throughout the course of the partnership, with the 125th anniversary plans raising the club's media profile still further. With Barnsley Football Club providing excellent conference and banqueting facilities in the area, the sponsor's name is sure to be seen by the many thousands of visitors to Oakwell each year. Building work on the new East Stand started in autumn 1992 and was completed in March 1993. It was built to replace the old Brewery Stand. The two tiers provide an excellent view of the playing area. It is also home to Barnsley FC's Executive Facilities. When Barnsley FC opened the East Stand in 1993, it was the first club in South Yorkshire to have Executive Boxes in their stadium. It has a combined capacity of 7,492.
