BEAMISH, THE NORTH OF ENGLAND OPEN AIR MUSEUM
Beamish is an award-winning recreation of the life and work of the people of the north-east in 1825 and 1913. Spread over 350 acres in Co. Durham, the museum now attracts 330,000 visitors a year, 70% from outside the region. Buildings have been saved from destruction and rebuilt brick by brick complete with authentic contents to display the unique industrial, agricultural and domestic heritage of the north east. Visitors take a tram ride back in time to the 1913 Town Street with shops and offices, Colliery Village with drift mine, pit cottages, school and chapel, Home Farm, Station, and to Pockerley with its Georgian manor house and landscape and early railway displays. Instead of glass cases and labels, costumed demonstrators talk to visitors about the exhibits. Contact: Anne Burton, Head of Fundraising. Address: Beamish Museum, Beamish, Stanley, Co. INTECH SCIENCE CENTRE
INTECH is a visitor and schools destination containing 100 interactive exhibits about science and technology. As an educational charity its aim is to inspire and enthuse everyone - but especially children - in science, technology and engineering. In addition to the hands-on exhibits there is a 200 seat auditorium which presents science shows/lectures. It is also a popular venue for corporate hire or for the Centre's sponsors. Located near Winchester, in a spectacular, award-winning pyramid building, INTECH boasts a position as the fastest growing family visitor attraction in the south of England. It is already firmly established as a leading education resource. 23,000 schoolchildren visited in 2004 and a further 13,000 used the Centre's Outreach Education Service. INTECH's present site was opened in 2001, with substantial Millennium Commission funding as well as support from sponsors such as IBM UK Laboratories, NTL, Glaxo Wellcome, Hampshire County Council and Southern Water. "If you believe in keeping science, technology and engineering stimulating for both current and upcoming generations then please support the work of INTECH", say the organisers. MUSEUM OF ARMY FLYING
If our country had never needed early balloons, kites, First and Second World War planes and gliders, all manner of fixed wing and rotary aircraft and, nowadays, attack helicopters, then The Museum of Army Flying wouldn't need your help now! The museum celebrates over 100 years of flight, is home to a national collection of military kites, gliders, aeroplanes and helicopters and, with imaginative dioramas and static displays, traces the development of Army flying from pre-World War One to the modern Army Air Corps. It has an educational wing for children, hands-on and interactive exhibits, room for conferences, corporate and private parties - and it is situated right next to a working airfield at Middle Wallop in Hampshire. The museum is a charity and relies solely on admission fees, event money and the generosity of donors. It badly needs funds to expand in order to house further aircraft at present in store or out on loan, to improve and modernise its cramped archives, develop workshop space and double its education facilities. On July 30th, the museum hosts Music In The Air, its one big charity fund raising event of the year, when the London Pro Arte Orchestra and the Waynflete Singers gather to serenade a crowd of 12,000 enthusiasts who come to picnic on the grass airfield, listen to the music and watch dazzling aerial displays in the skies above them. The event is highly popular, always a sell out and the museum is looking for sponsors for it. Contact: Alison Brierly, Marketing Director. Address: Musem of Army Flying, Middle Wallop, Stockbridge, Hampshire SO20 8DY. Tel.: 01980 67421. Fax: 01264 781694. E-mail: alison@flying-museum.org.uk

ROYAL MARINES MUSEUM
Founded in 1958, the Royal Marines Museum is located in the former Officers' Mess of Eastney Barracks in Portsmouth. Its prime location on the seafront provides a stunning backdrop for everyone who visits the Museum. The Museum believes that Portsmouth's maritime heritage should be celebrated through preserving and presenting Royal Marines' history in an innovative and enjoyable way. It aims to reach all areas of the local community through events, special promotions, education activities and outreach programmes. It also seeks to develop relationships with the local business community on the basis that a working partnership would be beneficial to both parties. The Museum understands that major competition can make it difficut for a sponsor to reach their arget audience. Large and expensive advertising campaigns sometimes fail to produce leads. A partnership with the Royal Marines Museum will ensure that a sponsor's brand is associated with its potential clients' lifestyle choices. There has never been a better time to get involved - during the next few years the Museum is planning an exciting range of exhibitions and refurbishments that will improve the building and its collections, with the aim of making the Museum inspiring and accessible to everyone. Bespoke sponsorship packages can be offered to suit any budget. Contact: Michelle Rickman, Development Officer. Address: Eastney Esplanade, Southsea, Hampshire PO4 9PX. Tel.: 023 9281 9385.     AMSM/0002     BRONTE PARSONAGE MUSEUM
Haworth Parsonage was the life long home of the Brontë sisters, Charlotte (1816-55), Emily (1818-48) and Anne (1820-49), who between them were responsible for writing some of the greatest novels in the English language. It was the Parsonage, set amongst the inspirational Yorkshire moorland and their home from 1820 to 1861, which gave them the seclusion and privacy they needed to compose such famous works as Charlotte's Jane Eyre, Emily's Wuthering Heights and Anne's The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. In some ways, their own life stories are as intriguing - and tragic - as those of their fictional heroes and heroines. The fact that their fiction painted such an apparently well-informed picture of the wider world is perhaps all the more remarkable given that such a large proportion of their brief lives was spent within the Parsonage. A wide range of sponsorship opportunities is available, from the award winning education service to development of the gardens and adjacent Sunday school building or the behind the scenes tours.     AMSM/0003     D. H. LAWRENCE HERITAGE
David Herbert Lawrence, the world famous novelist, poet and artist, was born in the town of Eastwood near Nottingham, on September 11th, 1885. Whilst he had a troubled relationship with the town of his birth, time and time again he wrote about the people and places of Eastwood and the surrounding countryside, 'The Country of my Heart'. D. H. Lawrence Heritage incorporates two unique sites, the D. H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum and Durban House Heritage Centre. The Birthplace Museum is an astounding re-creation of a Victorian, working class family home that is brought to life through informative and friendly guides. Durban House was the offices of the local coal owners, Barber, Walker & Co., where as a boy D. H. Lawrence would pick up his father's wages. Now a Heritage Centre, Durban House successfully depicts the Victorian past of Lawrence's mining hometown as well as offering culturally diverse and interactive exhibitions. A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available, from the new Rainbow Gallery to the development of the Blue Line trail, including a sensory trail for the blind, from our education services to the new D.
