AUTOGRAPH ABP
The charity: founded in 1988, Autograph ABP is a charity that works to educate the public in photography, with an emphasis on cultural identity and human rights, through exhibitions, publishing, education and the creation of a public archive of culturally diverse photography. It is based at Rivington Place, London, the home of culturally diverse contemporary art and photography in the UK, which opened in 2007. Designed by David Adjaye OBE, this prestigious award-winning building is the first new-build public gallery in London since 1968. Autograph is constantly expanding, and has recently worked on projects with The Hayward Gallery, The South Africa National Gallery, The Barbican, Harvard University and Syracuse University (both USA), DRIK (Bangladesh), Manchester Museum and Art Gallery, Amnesty International, MTV Europe Foundation and Magnum Photos, in partnership to reach yet larger audiences. The offer: Autograph's concerns give it a special place at the centre of the British art scene - the envy of the world - with its sophisticated, urbane and educated audience. Sponsorship would provide the sponsor with access to this demographic segment, and associate them with an arts organisation that is socially aware and has a proven track record. In a survey, Autograph ABP's annual audience figures were well over 500,000. The results of a spot-questionnaire for an Autograph exhibition at Rivington Place showed 68% of the audience were in work and 27% were students. 100% of those questioned rated their experience of the exhibition as either Good or Excellent. Recent press coverage included a four-page feature in the Guardian, a preview on Radio 3 Night Waves, three pages in The Independent, a full page in both Metro and The Times, a double page spread in New Humanist and numerous features and reviews in the general and art press. "Your mandate and programming is highly impressive ... the breadth of the photos both aesthetically and from the point of view of content, the associated contexts of the work, and the way the show was mounted. Wonderful, memorable, subtle, and in many ways revolutionary! Congratulations!" - Doina Popescu, Ryerson Gallery and Research Centre, Toronto, 2009; "You guys rock! The best exhibitions in the country. Cutting edge and accessible. Keep doing what you are doing and more" - Kevin McCullough, Christian Aid, 2009. Contact: Indra Khanna, Curator. THE BRITISH FIREWORK CHAMPIONSHIPS from THE EVENT SERVICES ASSOCIATION
The British Firework Championships, now in their nineteenth year, is the biggest free event taking place in the South West each August. Attracting a family crowd of around 200,000 people over two nights, the event features a competition involving six 10 minute firework displays by professional display companies. In order to expand the event further, the organisers are seeking a headline sponsor to work with, to develop the Championships. INSPIRE EDUCATION: UK SCHOOLS MEMORY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Inspire Education has been working with schools across the UK providing exciting and revolutionary services to all sectors of education. The organisation is passionate about raising the attainment and aspirations of students regardless of ability, to maximise their potential for learning and to achieve success in life. In 2008, along with the World Memory Sports Council, Inspire established the UK Schools Memory Championships, an exciting and innovative project which trains young people to develop their working memory; this in turn builds on confidence and can contribute to exam success. The project has gone from strength to strength with schools requesting the memory training which can also be delivered to staff in order that the methods are embedded into every curriculum subject. Inspire Education's highly trained presenters visit schools to deliver memory training to groups of students. These students are given a pre-printed training manual, which has been written by the eight times World Memory Champion Dominic O'Brien. Participating schools receive a Brain Club resource pack, which aids the students in setting up a club to promote memory development and brain training in general. After a period of training, in-school competitions take place across the UK. These competitions assess each student's ability to memorise five types of information in a test of raw memory power. The top students in the country are invited to a national final which is held in the region of the previous year's winner. The competition is a great way both of embedding memory techniques into education and developing life-long learning skills which are transferable across the curriculum and throughout life. Inspire Education constantly receives excellent feedback from schools, stating that these skills have had a positive affect on examination preparation and attainment levels. Recent research has shown that training the memory leads to a direct increase in problem solving ability, otherwise known as fluid intelligence. Participating students become proficient at putting these skills into practice to memorise and recall random words, random numbers and even the order of a shuffled deck of playing cards. As well as the realisation that they have acquired a powerful set of skills, this gives them the motivation and self confidence to memorise anything. These techniques are then effortlessly applied to their studies. The winners of last year's competition appeared on the BBC Breakfast News and the competition was featured in The Times and the Daily Telegraph. The size of the competition has increased dramatically this year and with it, the media interest is even greater. "As a sponsor you will be supporting the involvement of many schools that have limited funds to get involved in the training and competition; the growth of the competition throughout the UK and the provision of cutting edge resources for schools and students. Ultimately you will be helping to raise the attainment and aspirations of thousands of students across the UK. We regularly send promotional material to schools, educational departments and to government bodies. The competition has featured in several broadsheets and on the BBC News. You will be featured on all of our promotional material and on all of our press releases and television spots. Working with us will undoubtedly inspire you". Contact: Neil Denley, Director. STREAT PR: STREET FOOD AND FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL
StrEat PR Ltd was set up by Cathy McConaghy in 2015. For many years Cathy was a professional event organiser and gave that up to become one of the first street food traders in the UK. With her little pink camper van, Cathy was part of the "street food revolution" that paved the way for the industry we know and love today. After seven years of trading at numerous events, festivals and highly prestigious corporate events, Cathy decided to combine both skill sets and launch the UK's first national Street Food Festival in Harrogate. Cathy set about using all her street food contacts and brought together forty-two of the UK's finest street food traders, together with lots of quirky performers some of which had never been seen in the UK. The event was a huge success and a staggering 110,000 visitors were welcomed to the festival. StrEat PR and Harrogate were on the street food map as a destination event. Cathy organised the entire festival on her own, including booking the contractors, suppliers, performers and traders, organising the logistics, PR and marketing, stage managing the build and breakdown, handling all the trader and public enquiries and even relocating traders overnight, due to a flood, building fences and cleaning Portaloos! As a result of her hard work and after the huge success of the festival, she is honoured to have been invited to stage a street food market at the Great Yorkshire Show and is launching a brand new boutique festival at Newby Hall, Ripon. StrEat PR runs the Harrogate festival on a non-profit basis and it is being operated this year purely as a promotional tool for the other projects. To secure the future of the festival, for the local community and the independent traders, StrEat PR is seeking sponsorship. StrEat PR is seeking sponsorship from a forward-thinking company which genuinely wants to to promote its brand to a receptive, interactive audience. "Ideally we would love to continue hosting the Harrogate festival as a free event. But there is no space to expand or to ticket the event. Unless we can secure some sponsorship, we will have no alternative but to take the festival to another location … we can't keep making the festival better each year with no money in the pot! We are delighted to be hosting a brand new, boutique Street Food and Family Fun Festival at Newby Hall and Gardens on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th September. Newby Hall is a perfect pairing for our family market and attracts thousands of visitors over the summer season. We have VIP glamping, camping, hot tubs, Europe's largest outdoor movie screen, craft beer teepees, awesome street food and amazing performers to delight the crowds. We are confident that the Newby Hall Festival will be a regular event in the UK festival diary and are looking to expand by bringing in headline artists. 2018 would see the introduction of a third boutique street food festival and we are currently looking at various locations to site the event". Qualification events will take place across the country from January to August in Dressage, Show Jumping, Showing and the Eventers Challenge, allowing competitors to qualify for, and compete in, multi-disciplines. Immediately after the 2016 championship, new venues began to enquire as to how they can become a Sunshine Tour qualification venue for 2017, increasing the already established base of 140 registered venues. The championship, since its expansion and move to Hickstead in 2015, has seen over 1,500 horses compete each year, resulting in a footfall of over 3,000 people. Winners and those taking part are showered with beautifully designed rosettes, sashes and prizes, including rugs and jackets. Securing sponsorship to cover the cost of the rosettes and prizes would allow the championship to be even more generous with its prize giving; having the funds to enable the distribution of rosettes to all children that enter the championship, even if they are not placed, is on the wish list for 2017. The Sunshine Tour is seeking sponsorship from companies that have an interest in reaching and supporting grassroot, unaffiliated and amateur competitors, that would like to share in the show's success, be part of its growth and benefit from the fantastic marketing opportunities it offers. The Sunshine Tour UK offers varied sponsorship packages that can be tailored to suit the sponsor's need and budget. Benefits for the sponsors can include ongoing advertising throughout the championship season (not just at the event itself), through its website, Facebook page, venues and qualification cards and, if required, the Sunshine Tour can offer a trade stand space at the event to boost the sponsor's sales and profile. OSH/PL023 TAILWAGGER DOG DISPLAY TEAM
The Tailwagger Dog Display Team is a self-funding team of thirty-two people drawn from The Tailwagger Training Club in Leeds. At present they attend various shows throughout Yorkshire, ranging from small village fetes to agricultural shows. One of their main shows is Bramham International Horse Trials in June each year. Recently their show season culminated in a trip to south west Wales in September to defend their title of Dog Olympic Champions, which is an inter-club competition held each year. The team retained their title of Dog Olympics Champions, coming first and third. "We are now ready to launch this event in Yorkshire. We have our own PA system, generator, trailer and portable fencing - all of which require servicing/upgrading from time to time. Our trip to Wales costs in the region of £6,000.00, including fuel and overnight stays, all of which we pay ourselves. Most of the team use this as a holiday, because otherwise they would not get one!" Contact: Cathy Paterson, Team Manager. Address: 432 Stonegate House, Moortown, Leeds LS17 5BX. Tel.: 07717 860142. TOP MODEL OF COLOUR
The organisers of Top Model of Colour are looking for companies that wish to sponsor/support this year's event by providing either cash sponsorship, prizes or services for the competition. Last year's show was by far the biggest and best competition to date, with over 3,500 candidates, heats around the country and a gala finale at Chelsea Football Club's Stamford Bridge stadium in London. This year's competition is expected to be the biggest yet. The show is ongoing for nine months and consists of applications, live regional heats in July/August and the grand finale in November. So a sponsor receives continuous publicity from all client groups, models, family members and businesses. As ever the show has attracted unprecedented press coverage from the likes of the Evening Standard, Metro, the BBC and many more (as can be seen by searching the web for 'mahogany models' or visiting http://www.mahoganymodels.co.uk/show-presspage.php to get a feel for how big the show is). The competition is open to male and female models of African, Caribbean, Asian, Oriental, Hispanic and bi- and multi-racial ethnicity. Sponsors have the option of either sponsoring with cash and receiving higher prominence on the media information distributed or sponsoring prizes in kind and being a secondary or associate sponsor/supporter. Detailed current opportunities are listed below. This is the premium talent contest for models of ethnic minority descent and fills an important gap in the talent search market for people of colour. Many of the finest models working in the country today got their first break through the competition and everyone who has taken part confirms that the experience was really useful in getting day-to-day modelling jobs. "We welcome any other ideas or suggestions that you may have and we can tailor a package specifically for you and we look forward to hearing from you. To discuss the sponsorship packages and/or to receive a sponsorship pack or to become a sponsor of Top Model of Colour, please contact us". Contact: Shola Oyebade. VARIETY EVENTS (now BMG Events)
Local exhibitions, seminars and clinics organised by Variety Events encourage local businesses to do business in the local community where they live or work. An independent company, working in support of the FSB - Keep Trade Local campaign (Keeping Business Local - Creating Connections That Count), Variety Events has already organised shows in Reading, Newbury, Slough, Basingstoke, Aylesbury, Reading, Newbury and Oxford. They have already started to generate substantial numbers of hits on Google and have a large list of followers, exhibitors and attendees for the events. The shows seem sure to grow not just in recognition, but in brand awareness and indeed the company's five year plan is to have an event in each major town in the UK. Clearly there is scope to make these events global with the right sponsor on board and Variety Events has a comprehensive list of sponsorship opportunities on offer. "We're looking for a sponsor to come in at the beginning and see this grow, and with great branding, best practice and customer service sponsors will see their ROI in no time. The events take the form of seminars, advice panels, speed networking and B2B exhibitions locally: in local venues, with local speakers and with local businesses. The Keeping Business Local events are organised by a business team with experience of running successful events in the Thames Valley and beyond". Contact: Ms Debra Mann. OSH/003 HARROW FIREWORKS SHOW
An exciting sponsorship opportunity is available in connection with the Harrow Fireworks Show. The show is a fireworks display event that has been established for the last three years. "As a sponsor, you will have the opportunity to reach a family-orientated demographic and advertise your products and services within our marketing campaign. This consists of banners in thirty prime locations, 40,000 flyers, 1,000 posters and boards which appear in many shops, online marketing, including seven websites which attract 10,000 hits a day, digital marketing on 400 websites, social media marketing on Facebook pages and to Facebook groups, national coverage using Wowcher customers and media coverage via advertising in nine local newspapers and on local radio stations. We had our first show in 2012 at Stanmore Cricket Club, attracting an attendance of around 1,500 spectators. Then in 2013 we moved to Byron Park, where we had an attendance of 2,500. In 2014, in the same location, we had an attendance of 4,500. For 2015 we intend to stage the event again in Byron Park, with a much larger marketing campaign. With an expanding customer base, we hope for at least a 30% increase in attendance year-on-year. Any sponsor associating with us will be seen to be supporting an excellent family-orientated event that is the largest public event in Harrow. OSH/008 RAMSGATE SPRINT REVIVAL
The Ramsgate Sprint was originally run between 1956 and 1968, and was organised by The Sunbeam Owners Club. "Last year, with the assistance of the Invicta Bike Club and The East Kent Classic MCC, we revived an event on Ramsgate prom that was last held in 1968. To celebrate the original event, and from a safety point of view, we restricted applications to race to machines from 1972 and earlier. We wanted it to be free to the public, and in order to create a family weekend we organised a funfair, multiple live bands and an array of caterers, as well as a big static display of classic machines. The East Kent Classic club's membership worked extremely hard to publicise the event, both through social media and at other similar events throughout Kent. We secured multiple time world champion, from the era, Jim Redman, as our guest of honour, but we had no idea if anyone would actually show up. However, to our surprise, the weekend was a massive success and was attended by huge numbers of people! Feedback was totally fantastic. All reports in the media were of a resounding success. We have overcome serious difficulties in securing the venue for the same weekend again this year, and in order to make it even bigger and better and secure it for future years we are looking for a main sponsor to add their name to what promises to become a seriously huge event".
