| MV/005 | ORKNEY ISLANDS FILMS Orkney Islands Films is a non-profit making organisation which makes micro-budget movies in the Orkney area, giving people the opportunity to learn about digital film making. They are collaborating with the Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service in a Community Partnership Initiative, making a short drama which highlights the importance of a fully maintained smoke alarm. Once the drama has been completed they intend to have it classified by the British Board of Film Classification for both theatrical release and DVD release. They will then 'gift' the film to the Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service so they can use the drama in one of their campaigns. Orkney Islands Films is looking for sponsors to cover the costs of travel, accommodation and food for actors and crew, buying props and classification from the BBFC. The reason they need to cover the cost of the actors' and crews' travel and accommodation, etc. is that they are based on a small island and the actors and crew will have to stay on the island for a two week shoot. "The amount we are looking for is £3,500. None of the actors, crew or any member of Orkney Islands Films will receive payment for their work on the drama. The funds are to cover the cost of expenses. We do not want to ask the HIFRS to fund the drama as it will take away much needed funds from other areas. In return for sponsorship, sponsors will have a credit and their company logo placed at the end of the completed movie, as well as a credit on our website and the knowledge that they are not only helping a new, non-profit organisation gain a reputation in the film making industry, but also their sponsorship may save someone's life". Contact: Elaine Parkin, Treasurer. Address: Burness, Balfour, Shapinsay, Orkney KW17 2DY. Tel.: 01856 711333. E-mail: info@orkneyislandsfilms.org.uk link to website

| MV/0006 | RECYCLING OPTIONS LIMITED Working with secondary schools across the country, Recycling Options aims to install a range of automatic recycling machines that receive, shred or crush and store used beverage containers. These machines are at the leading edge of technology and have an excellent record in the USA and Europe. Machines are often seen as expensive for current tight school budgets; however, the integral TV provides a platform for sponsors to run video tracks that educate and inform students (11-18 years old), whilst promoting appropriate services and products. The organisation's systems also enable schools and colleges to qualify for Eco-school and Green Flag status, amongst others. Vouchers or smartcard points are given for every deposit and these provide an opportunity for incentive programmes geared for all Key stages, as well as an involvement in PSHE projects. Points (with a value) may alternatively be allocated to selected charities. The recycling initiative will create a better place to work and play, reduce litter, increase recycling and help local and global environments. Dealing with waste at the point of arising will reduce carbon emissions, and is practical and sustainable. Sponsors are required from organisations or companies who wish to be associated with education, the environment and lifestyle best practice by supporting these installations, to facilitate regional groupings of colleges and schools through participation in incentive projects or providing material for TV programmes. There is currently positive intent from college groups in Manchester, Cheshire and the London Borough of Croydon. These groups are seen as excellent platforms for a national roll-out during 2007 which could lead to a national system. Contact: Bernard Stonestreet. Address: 27 Dane Lane, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex TN38 0QW. Tel.: 07884 263824. Fax: 01782 629333. E-mail: bernard@recycling-options.com. link to website
