| AMJZ/PL002 | ![]() JAZZ SERVICES LTD. Jazz Services is a charitable organisation that exists to promote and support the development of jazz in the UK. The organisation offers a comprehensive information, advice and support and consultancy service to musicians, bands, promoters and managers to promote UK jazz to national and international audiences, and actively campaigns to improve the overall standards of music education. Jazz Services will host the first UK Jazz Forum, a two day education programme that takes place on 26th-27th October, 2007 at the award-winning Mermaid Events and Conference Centre, London. The event will target music educators teaching at Key Stages 2 to 4 and will include specialist speakers from the jazz education and policy arena, interactive workshop sessions, music specialists, exhibitors, music media demonstrators and performances from prominent UK jazz artistes and a leading Youth Jazz Orchestra. There is an attractive opportunity for creative and forward-thinking businesses to become the main sponsor of this exciting event and to market their services to a specialised client group which directly influences the new generation of music consumers and performers. Alternatively sponsors may consider supporting the three major music strands which focus on Education, Adult Education and Business. Other business benefits are detailed in the charity's sponsorship brochure. Contact: Ms Humie Webbe, Project Manager. Address: 11 Craiglee Drive, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff CF10 4BN. | AMJZ/002 | MIDLANDS YOUTH JAZZ ORCHESTRA The Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra is now widely acclaimed as one of the UK’s top big bands. Its reputation has been founded on a consistently high quality of performance over two decades. In addition, audiences find they are infected by the enjoyment which band members bring to performances, and the excitement which the band generates. These qualities have helped bring the band success in the BBC National Big Band Competition, initially during the 'eighties winning the Youth Section, but latterly being successful in the senior competition. In fact the band has been unbeaten in the BBC competition since the mid-'eighties, although, because of it success, it is now barred for two years from entering, following a win! MYJO has also been a winner in the Dutch National Big Band Competition, beating adult bands from The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Sponsorship opportunities are now available. Contact: John Ruddick, Band Director. Address: Birmingham, England. Tel.: +44 01675 442050. E-mail: john.ruddick@btinternet.com. link to website
