| SMC/PL002 | ![]() TV series overview: coming to ITV4 in 2008, Iron Butts Med Circle is the world's toughest amateur endurance biking challenge. Led by a celeb team with Carl Fogarty at its head, participants will journey 7,500 miles through fifteen of the world's most diverse, scenic and chaotic countries, as they attempt to circumnavigate the Mediterranean Sea by motorbike in just fifteen days. All teams are just that - teams - and therefore will have to overcome bad navigation and getting lost, flat tyres, mad and bad local drivers, mechanical failure, visa and border issues, running out of fuel and possible cultural issues. Being part of a team will cause arguments and disagreements - who will prevail as group leader? Who will quit after three days on the road? Half the nights will be spent in a tent in the middle of the desert in large groups of tents. Watching the stars from the Sahara has its own sense of romance, but also many practical issues. Which team will cope the best and the worst with the hardship of no running water, loos, cooking on a fire, sleeping rough and avoiding the spiders? If you can imagine the adrenaline fix of riding over the Bosphorus where Europe changes into the Middle East, riding past the pyramids and across the Sahara; if you can imagine dancing the night away in an Algerian nightclub, getting upset and frustrated with your fellow team mates, wanting more than anything to get off your bike and sip a beer when there is still five hours of riding left, then you can imagine just some aspects of the Iron Butts Challenge. For the rest, you'll have to watch it on TV. Sponsorship opportunity overview: showing next spring at a peak time weekend evening slot, the Iron Butts TV series is a rare opportunity to sponsor a Freeview based adventure and travel series, with true celebrity involvement. Sponsorship packages are available to meet all corporate budgets. Contact: Graham Hoskins, Executive Producer. Address: Jasmine Cottage, Windsor Lane, Little Kingshill, Great Missenden, Bucks. | SMC/0001 | BARRY DUNSTAN Barry Dunstan is a twenty-two year old motorcycle racer who in only two years hasn't only won a lot of races - he's also caught the attention of many motorcycle fans for his hard training but fun personality. In Barry's impressive first year in the sport he won the Rookie Minitwin championship, finishing third overall in the Clubman Minitwin championship. Barry also won the Steve Learoyd Shield for being the best new rider in the motorcycle club BEMSEE. Whilst in 2007 Barry struggled on his Suzuki SV 650 in the premier Dyna Pro Minitwin championship - mainly due to bad luck and lack of knowledge with the bike set up - he kept pushing, and despite his lack of experience in comparison with that of his rivals, he solved the problems with the bike, achieved no less than fifteen podium finishes and finished third overall. Barry has again been training hard, this time in preparation for the 2008 championship and with a new bike (Suzuki GSXR 1000) comes new determination from the youngster, who is setting his sights high for next year. Barry sees this coming year as a big step towards motorcycle success and knows the racing will be hard in the MRO Superstock Championship. He maintains his own bike and van, both of which are always kept very clean and always look professional. Many riders travel abroad for winter testing while Barry is left trying to ride in cold, cold England, giving his opponents a head start straight away. A main financial sponsor is needed for the next year to give him the best chance of success possible, something that he overly deserves. Any form of sponsorship would be hugely appreciated - Barry is always prepared to compromise to keep people happy, and will of course be delighted to listen to suggestions that any sponsor may have. | SMC/0004 | MG RACING Mike Goodfellow has taken most of 2007 off from road racing, in order to clear his personal debts, although he kept race fit by motocrossing. However in the summer he bought a Suzuki GSXR1000 and at only his second race meeting of the year finished third in the Champion of Brands. In 2008 he is planning to compete in either the National MRO Superstocks or, if financial backing allows, the British Superbike Cup. Both series will be televised. Mike finished eighth in the Privateers Cup in his debut season (2005) and in 2006 finished fifth. He is looking for a principal sponsor and can offer promotional and hospitality opportunities. The partner name and logo would be included on MG Racing publicity material, with links to and from the team website, as well as livery on the bike, transport and team clothing. Mike is a talented racer who has shown considerable promise - progressing from club level to British Supersport in a short period of time. A limited budget has meant that he has filled the dual role of riding and preparing his machinery with assistance from family and friends. He also holds down a full-time job. He lives for his racing and all his energies and funds are concentrated on his sport. For details of Mike's experience, just check out his website - www.mike-goodfellow.com - or email him for more information. Contact: Mike Goodfellow. Tel.: 01483 548150. Address: 29 Rydelands, Cranleigh, Surrey GU6 7DD. E-mail: mikey@rydelands.fsnet.co.uk. link to website
