Brand new match ball marks Mitre partnership renewal with The Football League

The Delta Hyperseam, Mitre's most technologically advanced football ever produced, has been unveiled as The Football League's official match ball for the 2015/16 season.

The new ball marks a renewed partnership deal that will see Mitre Sports International continue as Official Ball Supplier of The Football League for the next four years.

Football fans around the world will get a first view of the Mitre Delta Hyperseam when it makes its debut on Friday, 7th August, as Nottingham Forest travel to Brighton and Hove Albion in the opening game of the Sky Bet Football League season.

As The Football League's official ball, Mitre's Delta Hyperseam will feature in 1,656 matches across the Sky Bet Championship, League 1 and League 2. A further fifteen games will be played in the Sky Bet Play-Offs, where the ball will grace Wembley's hallowed turf bringing the Football League season to a dramatic climax.

All seventy-two Football League teams will play home fixtures with a customised version of the Mitre Delta Hyperseam, featuring club logos and colours. Bespoke editions of the ball will be used for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and the Capital One Cup, which kicks off on Tuesday, 12th August.

The innovative Mitre Delta Hyperseam possesses the accuracy, speed and power of a stitched football, says the company, whilst retaining the control and consistency of a bonded football. With 4,717 goals scored in all Football League competitions last season, fans will be hoping the new Mitre Delta Hyperseam hits the back of the net as freely this time around.

Shaun Harvey, Chief Executive of The Football League, said: "The Football League is proud to announce this partnership renewal with Mitre, safe in the knowledge that our clubs will be playing with the best quality footballs available on the market. The Football League and Mitre are two great British names known the world over and we look forward to working together to provide another season of excitement for fans at home and abroad".

Jon Godden, Managing Director at Mitre Sports International, commented: "We are delighted to announce our continued partnership with The Football League. Together we have a strong history; Mitre has been the Official Ball Supplier for the League for over forty years. We look forward to continuing our shared passion for the game and, through the new Delta Hyperseam football, will continue to provide the teams with the very latest football innovation and technology".

To celebrate its long-running partnership with The Football League and maximise awareness of its new professional range, Mitre has launched the #madewithmitre creative campaign. The new creative looks to acknowledge the role Mitre footballs have played in matches over the last four decades and the support they will continue to give Football League players over the next four years. The campaign will be supported with trade advertising, PR, and social media.
