Good call as Featherstone Rovers sign up Heineken

Featherstone Rovers have announced a new sponsorship deal with Heineken, the UK's leading beer and cider business.

The three year deal will see the Heineken-owned Foster's lager brand appearing on one of the most prominent locations on the shirt, until the end of the 2015 season, together with perimeter advertising around the Big Fellas Stadium and hospitality on match days.

The Foster's brand is renowned for its "no worries" attitude to life and has a rich tradition of sporting sponsorship, including cricket, Formula 1 and surfing. Foster's currently sponsors original comedy on Channel 4 and has an award-winning UK advertising campaign, "Good Call", with Aussies Brad and Dan.

Featherstone Rovers Chief Executive Craig Poskitt said: "We are delighted to have Foster's on board and we will be working together to ensure that our fans' experience at the Big Fellas Stadium is always first class.

"As the leading club outside Super League, Foster's have recognised that we are a superb vehicle to promote their brand; and they wish to be associated with a successful team and growing club with high ambitions. It is also important to point out that brand owner Heineken takes its responsibilities as an alcohol business seriously - and we all agree that there is a right time and place to enjoy a beer.

"Foster's are just one of several internationally-renowned organisations that have strategically decided to become commercial partners of the club in 2013 which is great news for our Destination Super League campaign".

John Gemmell, Trading Director for Heineken, also commented on the deal. "This is a hugely exciting opportunity for us and our Foster's brand. Watching League and enjoying a cold beer is one of life's great pleasures, and we are delighted that we will be a key sponsor at the Big Fellas Stadium from the start of next season.

"We believe that good sponsorships are built on partnership, and it's already clear that Featherstone's 'can do' attitude will help us build on the already great reputation that the club has. We're looking forward to February and wish the club every success in 2013".

Heineken's portfolio of brands includes Foster's, Heineken®, Strongbow, Kronenbourg 1664, John Smith's and Bulmers, together with a range of niche and speciality brands. Heineken was a sponsor and official supplier to the London 2012 Olympic Games, is a partner in the UEFA Champions League and title sponsor of the Heineken Cup.
