L'Oréal UK & I sponsors first-ever national award to find best male undergraduate talent in the UK & I

L'Oréal UK & I is the latest international graduate recruiter to partner with the TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards 2015 to launch the Male Undergraduate of the Year Award.

The company has sponsored the first ever award open exclusively to men in a bid to promote its profile among male undergraduates, and challenge perceptions they often have of working for a cosmetics giant.

The winner of the award will receive a ten week summer internship with L'Oréal, including a week in Paris and two days spent with senior managers of the company.

Negin Lankarani, L'Oréal UK and Ireland's Graduate Recruitment Manager, said the sponsorship would help attract male undergraduate talent, ensuring L'Oreal maintained a diverse workforce: "Our internship programme is a gateway to our graduate scheme, which is our pipeline of future leaders. We're always looking for creative, daring and driven people. People who make it their mission to challenge the status quo and believe that nothing is impossible.

"L'Oréal has set itself the task of attracting one billion new consumers globally by 2020 – in order to do this we need talent who understand digital, beauty and retail and have what it takes to help us reach this goal".

The TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards, now in its sixth year, features twelve prestigious awards, each sponsored by a prominent graduate recruiter and each offering fantastic prizes for the winner, including paid internships, trips abroad and meetings with senior executives. Last year's competition attracted over 4,400 entries from undergraduates studying at 140 different universities.

The TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards seek to identify and celebrate the UK's best undergraduates, through a series of challenging online tests and assessment centres. The final shortlist of ten for each award is invited to a ceremony in London in April where the winners are announced by the leading TV journalist and presenter Fiona Bruce.

Simon Rogers, GTI Media Director, said: "After launching the highly successful Female Undergraduate of the Year two years ago, it's great to add this year an award targeted at the best male undergraduate talent. Some careers have always attracted more men than women and others more women than men but it's always been our aim to encourage all students to consider all jobs, regardless of gender".
