Leicestershire County Cricket Club have agreed a five-year deal with Fischer Future Heat to rename their ground as the Fischer County Ground, Grace Road.

The storage heater specialists have a huge interest in sport in the city of Leicester as they sponsor both Leicester City and Leicester Tigers.

Grace Road was opened for cricket in 1879 and this is the first time in the ground's history that it will bear the name of a sponsor. The ground location is notable for Fischer Future Heat as they were based on Aylestone Road before moving to their new premises in Frog Island.

Leicestershire chief executive, Wasim Khan MBE, said: "Securing a ground naming rights partner was a major objective of ours this winter and it is fantastic news that Fischer Future Heat have come on board with us.

"This is the start of a hugely important partnership for us and we are really looking forward to working with Fischer Future Heat over the next five years. Ground redevelopments are a key part of our five-year business plan and it is great to be moving forward with those with Fischer Future Heat on board.

"With the Ground Naming Rights Partnership, the Elton John concert scheduled at the Fischer County Ground, Grace Road in June and the recent council approval of floodlights at the ground, 2016 is set to become one of the biggest years in the club's history.”

Fischer Future Heat founder and chief executive officer, Keith Bastian, said: "Our company enjoys a prominent reputation nationwide but Leicester is its home, so we are incredibly proud to now have partnerships with the city's three biggest sports clubs.

"As a lifelong cricket fan myself, I am particularly excited about our new friendship with LCCC and I am keen to play a key part in supporting the club's future".
