Jefferies Solicitors to sponsor blind golfer William McAllister

Jefferies Solicitors is a reputed law firm based in Cheshire that specialises in personal injury cases. The company is now supporting one of the UK's leading blind golfers, William McAllister, by sponsoring him and his campaign to play at the World Golf Championships in Australia in 2014.

McAllister lost his eyesight three years ago after contracting diabetes. He then started playing blind golf as a form of rehabilitation. At present, he is the highest ranked blind golfer in the England and Wales blind golf circuit.

More recently, he has been concentrating on qualifying for the 2014 World Championships to be held in Australia, and has been looking for sponsors to help him meet the costs of playing the UK and European and circuits.

Speaking about the support the company is offering the player, the managing partner of Jefferies Solicitors said: "We are delighted to announce that Jefferies will be sponsoring William McAllister for the forthcoming World Championships. We look forward to seeing him perform at this great competition and we could not have thought of a better way to show our support for him".

McAllister has won several awards since he started playing blind golf three years ago. His recent victories include the English Stroke Play Championships in July, the M.A.S.S.-sponsored Disabled Golf Championships in June, as well as the Royston Open for disabled golfers.

With qualification secured and his focus turning to the tournament next year, Mr McAllister underlined how grateful he was for the sponsorship he has received so far. "I'm honoured to have been chosen for the forthcoming world golf championship in Australia", he said. "I take this opportunity to thank Jefferies for having sponsored me - it means so much".
